About Mark Lusk
Dr. Lusk brings over thirteen years of experience as a manual physical therapist to MVMT. Previously a professional dancer, he understands first-hand the impact of injuries on performance and emotional well-being. Dr. Lusk graduated from Hunter College with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and an Award for Clinical Excellence. He completed the rigorous examination process to become a Certified Functional Manual Therapist through the Institute of Physical Art, passing the exam with Honors. Dr. Lusk is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, CrossFit Level 1 Coach, Certified Roc Doc, and certified in the FMS and SFMA screening tools. He has served on faculty for Hunter’s physical therapy program, and currently teaches with the IPA as a Primary Instructor. He has also worked as a physical therapist on over 60 Broadway shows.
Dr. Lusk continues to extensively study manual techniques. His interests span the continuum of functional movement, from acute injury through elite performance. This passion for movement has also led to his conceiving and performing research on assessing movement in dancers utilizing the Y-Balance Test. Dr. Lusk brings his knowledge, passion and compassion to every session to improve his patient’s quality of life.
