About Michael Uttecht
Michael Uttecht has a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from South Dakota State University and a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from University South Dakota. He has worked primarily in orthopedic and sports physical therapy at Georgetown University Hospital. He has gained more than 20 years of experience in collegiate sports medicine to include South Dakota State University, University of Virginia, and Georgetown University.
Mr Uttecht continued his post-graduate education with Institute of Physical Art achieving Functional Manual Therapist Certification with honors. He also is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist with the American Physical Therapy Association, Certified Exercise Specialist in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization with the Rehabilitation Prague School, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Certified Functional Dry Needling Practitioner with Kinetacore.
Mr Uttecht is Clinical Supervisor of outpatient physical therapy in the MedStar Health System, a large not for profit organization in Baltimore and Washington, DC. In addition to his clinical and administrative duties, he is also the Site Residency Director of the Functional Manual Therapy program at Georgetown University Hospital.
Mr. Uttecht has been teaching with the Institute of Physical Art since 2009 with focuses in Functional Mobilization I & II, and Functional Mobilization for Athletic Trainers.
