About Leah Lau
Dr. Leah Lau DPT, CFMT received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY where she had the privilege of studying under Cristiana Kahl Collins and was there that she was introduced to Functional Manual Therapy (FMT). Functional Manual Therapy carries a philosophy that resonates strongly with Leah, that every individual has “untapped potential” whether that’s performing as an elite athlete or wanting to move around without pain. Leah holds a post-doctorate specialization in Functional Manual Therapy which she earned with Honors.
While FMT is the foundation of Leah’s practice she is also specializes in Pelvic and Women’s Health, Orthopedic, Neurologic and Sports rehabilitation in addition to providing guidance for lifelong wellness.
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. Leah completed her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in gerontology at the University of San Francisco while also balancing life as a division one athlete on the track team, competing in javelin and triple jump. Leah continued her love for learning by making the trek to New York City for graduate school.
Leah moved back to Hawaii in 2020 to be closer to family. In her free time, Leah enjoys all of the wonders the Hawaii islands have to offer. The short list of activities includes hiking, SCUBA, swimming, Pilates and running around with her two Chocolate Labradors Moose and Marlee.
